HST – Heat Soak Test

MARITAN GLASS is pleased to announce that in September 2016 the new HST furnace has started operating.

With dimensions of 5000 x 2600 the new system increases the range of flat glass processing.

Now essential in many countries and soon also in Italy the HST treatment allows to eliminate over 99% of the slabs that would break due to the presence of nickel sulphide (NiS) created by sulfur particles and nickel that inevitably end up in the glass mass at the time of production in the blast furnaces. HST is regulated by the UNI EN 14179 standard and is a mandatory test for the slabs that will make up the facades of buildings.
